A huge well done to the boys and girls from Junior Infants to Sixth Class on their amazing Christmas performances last night, 19/12/23. The Show began with Junior Infants and Senior Infants who performed 'The Bossy King'. Following this, First and Second Class took to the stage and performed 'Silent Night'. Finally, Third to Sixth Class sang a mix of Christmas carols and songs that they will be performing at Peace Proms in January 2024. Many thanks to everyone who attended and supported last nights show!
It was wonderful to be able to celebrate Grandparents’ Day this year. It was a pleasure to welcome the huge number of grandparents who turned up to visit Kilcornan National School. The pupils put on some fantastic performances and everyone had a very memorable morning! Thank you to the community council for the use of the hall, Jim Mc Grath for providing beautiful music and the Parents’ Council for their hard work preparing for the event and hosting our special visitors.
After two years of a hiatus, we were delighted to be able to bring back Kilcornan National School's annual Christmas show. Pupils from Junior Infants to Second Class put on a nativity based musical called 'Whoops A Daisy Angel', while pupils from Third to Sixth Class performed a selection of Christmas songs and songs from their upcoming Peace Proms performance. We are incredibly proud of all the pupils!
Thank you to the staff for their hard work in ensuring the pupils were extremely well prepared for the shows. Thank you to the Parents' Council for organising the raffle and providing refreshments for both shows. We are very grateful to the community centre for the use of the hall and to Mike O'Connell for all his work preparing the stage and providing lighting and sound. Thank you to everyone who supported the show, prepared the pupils and helped with staging and costumes.
Please find below a beautiful selection of photographs by Mary O'Shaughnessy. DVD's will be available in the new year from Fergal Nash.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a healthy and happy new year. We look forward to welcoming pupils back to Kilcornan on Thursday 5th January!
Kilcornan National School were delighted to welcome parents, grandparents and great grandparents to our school on Thursday 30th January! Grandparents play such a special role in their grandchildrens' lives and we were delighted to host this special occasion for them. Our guests of honour were treated to a variety of poems, songs, dancing and traditional music from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Our parents' council and kind parental volunteers provided refreshments for everyone in attendance. The grandparents were then welcomed back for a tour of the school and a visit to their grandchild's classroom. Thank you to everyone who provided baked goods, our parents' council and volunteers and the community council for the use of the hall.
