G.A.A training has started back each Friday from Senior Infants to 6th Class. We would like to thank Mrs. Gleeson and trainers Paddy Ivess, Johnny Dunne and their team for their continued dedication to the school.
Rugby training has also started back each Monday for the senior classes. Don’t forget to bring you gear and a gumshield.
Due to popular demand, Zumba classes took place in the school this autumn, starting on Monday 5th October, for 6 weeks. We had the expertise of Zumba Instructor Avril Kirrane again this year. A big thanks to Avril!
We were delighted to work with Limerick’s Live 95fm this September to raise money for worthy limerick causes. ‘Welly Wednesday’ took place on the 23rd of September and all pupils brought in money to fill the two wellies we were given!
Lorraine, the school secretary, runs the credit union in the school every Friday. Any pupil who wishes to join, please call into Lorraine for an application form.
Maths Week took place in Kilcornan National School in October. Maths Week promotes awareness, appreciation and understanding of maths through a variety of events and activities. The pupils had great fun playing maths games and taking part in enriching maths activities.
Each year, Kilcornan National School takes part in the Christmas Shoebox Appeal. We are always very grateful for the generosity shown by parents to this cause. This year, the school donated 69 shoeboxes so well done to everyone who contributed!
‘Sky Dome’ will visit the school on Monday 7th December. Often referred to as a ‘school tour without having to leave the school’, Sky Dome is a mobile planetarium that allows you to interact with the planets, stars and other objects in our universe. Pupils can experience the cosmos without having to travel astronomical distances!
Our annual Christmas Show will take place in Kilcornan Community Hall on Thursday 17th December. The Infant classes will perform 'The Bossy King', while the older classes will perform 'Angels On High'. As usual, we will have a matinee and evening show. All classes are busy rehearsing and looking forward to performing for friends and family!
The school will be attending the Christmas panto ‘Sleeping Beauty’ in the University of Limerick on Monday 21st December.
First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday 28th May.
