1st and 2nd Class: June Update

Wow! It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of the school year and counting down the days to the summer holidays. It has been a busy and exciting year which has flown by. First and Second class have been working hard in class and it has definitely paid off! We are ready now and very excited to move up into 2nd and 3rd class. Second class has been very busy. They received both their First Penance and First Holy Communion which went fantastic! The Holy Communion went especially well with lots of fun and plenty of style by all! School has been busy with lots happening including a visit from the mayor of Limerick, who even joined in during a traditional music session with the senior classes! The children enjoyed a skipping session with Lee. Second class enjoyed their set of swimming lessons this past term. We went to UL for our school tour which was great fun! Second class particularly enjoyed the rafting and water activities and we were very blessed with the lovely weather. Foynes fire brigade paid Kilcornan school a visit and the excitement was electric as they showed us the different parts of the fire truck! We are busy now with matches for Kelly cup etc. and will be getting ready to say goodbye to the 6th class next week. We are looking forward to a relaxing and fun summer ahead.
