Junior & Senior Infants Christmas Update

Hello from Junior and Senior Infants! We have been so busy this term and Ms. Balfry is very proud of how hard we have all been working. We had great fun during Science Week. Senior Infants collaborated with Mrs. Gleeson’s Senior Infants to carry out their science experiments including invisible writing, ‘explosions’ and snow making! Juniors had their first experience of skittle rainbow colours, volcano explosions and washing up liquid and milk reactions using food dye. They drew pictures of and wrote about their experiments.

We learned lots about bullying during ‘Anti Bullying Week’ in school and how to be kind to each other. We watched videos about bullying and learned that it is important to say something if you see someone being bullied.

This term we also got to be part of our first Christmas Show in Kilcornan! We got special parts: the Junior Infant girls were angels, the Senior Infant girls were snowflakes and the boys were shepherds. We had great fun learning our songs and lines and practising them every day for weeks leading up to our show. When the day came, we were all so excited! We dressed up in our beautiful costumes and went up on stage to perform for all our friends and families. They were so proud of us!!

After performing in our own show, we then got a little treat where we were able to sit back, relax and watch another show. We went on a bus to the University of Limerick to see the panto ‘Peter Pan’. It was some of the pupils ’first time on a bus and some of the pupils’ first time at a panto! We had great fun dancing and shouting at the characters throughout the show. Captain Hook did not like people from Limerick!

Thank you to Catherine for helping us everyday in our classroom and to Ms. Quinn and Ms. Wallace for helping to teach us this term. We learned how to say Happy Christmas in our Gaeilge lessons so Nollaig Shona Daoibh go léir!

Check back in with us in the new year for more updates from Junior and Senior Infants. Slán!
