Happy Halloween from Junior and Senior Infants! We have had a very busy first two months in school. Junior Infants have settled into school very well and have made lots of new friends. Senior Infants have matured so much and are setting a great example for all the new Juniors. Everyone is remembering their kind words, kind hands and kind feet.
We have learned lots this half term. Juniors are working on their Jolly Phonics’ sounds and have started learning sight words. Seniors are developing their reading skills by working on reading fluency. Senior Infants have revised lots of Maths and have begun learning their number story of 6. Junior Infants have learned lots about matching and opposites as well as new characters from the world of Wandsville. We love learning and playing games using the interactive board in our class.
We have really enjoyed our art lessons and using our imaginations. We loved colour mixing, pumpkin printing and creating autumn crepe paper trees so far. We also had great fun visiting third class for the first time and seeing their amazing bird feeder projects.
Senior Infants have been thoroughly enjoying Aistear with Mrs. Gleeson’s Senior Infants and exploring the themes of Myself, The Airport and Autumn/Halloween.
We love dancing and love taking our Go Noodle movement breaks in class. They are good for our minds as well as our bodies! We had the best fun in our skipping workshops with Lee and are really enjoying using our new P.E equipment.
We have been learning about taking care of the environment in school and how our school got its’ green flags. We are trying our best to recycle, separate our rubbish in our classroom and make a difference in our world.
We had great fun celebrating Jersey Day and wearing our Halloween costumes to school this month. We are looking forward to a well-earned week off and the exciting months ahead. A big thank you to Catherine for her help in our room everyday and to Ms. Quinn.
Check back with us again for more updates. Slán from Junior and Senior Infants!
