3rd Class Easter Update
Beannachtaí na Cásca oraibh!
Rang a 3 have been very busy the past term engaging in lots of fun activities! Well done to everyone for the incredible effort and work completed this term.
It was a particularly busy term for our Green Schools committee who have been busy preparing for the Green Flag. In 3rd class, we focused on the Seasonal Food Calendar. We learned that seasonal food is not only great on our plates but it’s good for the planet too! We celebrated Harvest Day and engaged in a fun table quiz to test our knowledge on the topic. The class also worked in groups to complete a seasonal food calendar, splitting the year into seasons, and creating posters to raise awareness of the foods in season. We also engaged in the Team Limerick Clean Up to collect any rubbish found around on the school grounds. For World Wildlife Day, we learned about the importance of biodiversity in our environment and how we can protect it. It is clear that Rang a 3 are eco-warriors that care very much for the environment, the planet will be safe in their hands!
We were delighted to have the book fair in our school and really enjoyed dressing up for World Book Day. We created a new front cover of our favourite book for Art, listened to an audiobook by David Walliams and discussed our costumes with the class. Check out our amazing characters!
For PE, we are delighted to welcome Johnny Dunne back for GAA skills. The class have been improving their hurling and football skills and playing games with one another. It has been so enjoyable to practice these skills with our classmates.
Easter marks the end of Lent, and we have enjoyed learning about how Easter is celebrated all around the world. We were so lucky to be able to celebrate the start of Lent on Pancake Tuesday in school this year. Rang a 6 cooked delicious pancakes for us as well as lots of other yummy baked treats! Go raibh mile maith agaibh!
We are looking forward to our last term in school.
