Welcome back 5th and 6th class from Ms Mullane and Linda.
It is so great to be back to a new term and new classes. Everyone is settling back so well and we have had a great start to the new academic year!
In SESE, we have focused on our local area. We completed projects on the school laptops and presented them to the rest of the class. We explored the history of our school, Curraghchase and other local landmarks. We also created Kahoots based on Kilcornan. We learned lots from each other!
In PE, we worked on the strand of athletics. We completed relays, hurdles, javelin throws and long jump techniques. This was super fun!
We have been reading the novel ‘Letters from the Lighthouse’ by Emma Carroll. This book is set during WWII. We are following the lives of Olive and Cliff as they embark on months of heavy air and raids across London.
We have been learning lots of sign language with Ger every week. This is a great skill to learn.
Music Generation has been so much fun. We have learned about the names of the music notes, patterns and different beats.
To celebrate Maths week, we completed a Maths Trail around the school. We also completed challenges using Lego. Sixth class were lucky to win the jar of sweets with the closest guess.
Well done to everyone on all your hard work!
Have a lovely Midterm break. Oíche Shamhna shona daoibh!
